Open Your Vault on Another Device
Your iPhone and iPad can open the same vault, with the same password.
- Make sure both devices are signed in to the same Apple ID and have iCloud Keychain turned on.
- Install SilentBox on the other device and open it. Instead of Create Vault, you see the lock screen.
- Enter your vault password and tap Unlock with Password.
- When SilentBox offers Face ID or Touch ID, tap Turn On.
- To bring your items over, turn on iCloud on this device too: in Settings, turn on Sync with iCloud. See Turn on iCloud.
Face ID, Touch ID and a PIN belong to one device. Turn them on again on each device where you want them.
TipIf you see Create Vault instead of the lock screen, your vault's key hasn't reached this device yet. Don't create a new vault — leave SilentBox open, and the lock screen appears on its own once the key arrives.
NoteThe key to your vault travels through iCloud Keychain, sealed so that only your password or recovery phrase opens it — never through our servers. Without iCloud Keychain, the vault can't be opened on another device, not even with the recovery phrase.
If you removed the vault from this device
- Removed in Settings: the lock screen stays. Enter your password to open the vault here again.
- Removed from the lock screen: tap Open the Vault on This Device on the Create Vault screen, then enter your password.
