Remove the Originals from Photos
After adding photos, delete them from the Photos app so the only copy left is the encrypted one in the vault.
- Add photos and videos with Add Photos, as in Add photos and videos.
- When the whole batch is in, SilentBox asks Delete the originals from Photos?. Tap Delete.
- iOS asks you to confirm the deletion. Confirm it.
To leave them where they are, tap Keep in Photos. SilentBox asks once per batch, after the last item, and only about items that are already saved in the vault.
NoteDeleting needs access to Photos. To check it, tap Settings at the top of the album list (if you don't see it, tap … first) and look under Photos: Access to Photos shows what SilentBox may do, and Allow Access to Photos or Open Settings changes it.
Live Photos
SilentBox saves a Live Photo as a still image, so the motion isn't kept. Deleting the original would lose the motion for good, so SilentBox doesn't offer it for Live Photos. If you want the option anyway, turn on Offer to delete Live Photo originals under Live Photos in Settings.
Other ways of adding
- Camera never saves to Photos, so there is nothing to delete.
- Items shared from another app stay in that app. SilentBox can't delete them there — do it in that app.
